Hello Meadowlark Families,
Thanks to everyone who came out for the very first "Parent Academy" featuring the film Most Likely to Succeed. Also a special thanks to Kiffany Lychock, a Maverick Parent and BVSD's Director of Innovation, who lead us in dialog around preparing our students for the future versus a traditional education. Principal Brent Caldwell kicked off the night sharing the guiding principles around Project Based Learning and his passion for making a difference in our students lives.
Meadowlark’s Back to School Night is coming up this Tuesday September 12th from
5:30-7:30 pm This is our biggest membership event of the year and the perfect time to join the PTSA and make a difference in your students lives while meeting other families in the community! We will be accepting cash, check or credit card. You can also join or make a donation on our website https://mavsptsa.org
King Sooper Gift Cards
We will also be selling King Sooper Gift Cards for $5.00 at Back to School Night. Everyone needs groceries, so why not let a percentage of that grocery bill benefit Meadowlark? Added bonus, by using a gift card at King Scoopers you get 2x the fuel points!
How does it work?
You buy a Gift Card from the PTSA for $5.00. You add more to the card at King Soopers before your purchase. Whatever dollar amount you add, you get that same dollar amount worth of purchases at King Soopers. This is a reusable card so you keep this card and reload it again and again at King Soopers for any amount up to $500. You simply give it to your cashier or the customer service desk before your purchase and the King Soopers employee will reload it. This needs to be done as a separate transaction from your grocery purchase. You pay for the reload amount by cash, check or credit card. No need to wait until your card is empty either – you can reload it at any time.
What’s the Catch? NONE. There are no extra costs associated with this program. Your initial $5.00 Gift Card is redeemable for $5.00 in King Soopers merchandise. This is a way for King Soopers to encourage shoppers to patronize their store, and also for them to support non‐profit organizations. How does the school earn money? Every time you purchase an initial card from the school, AND EVERY TIME YOU RELOAD IT, King Soopers adds the amount to Meadowlark’s Neighborhood Reward account. Once the account balance in any given month reaches $5,000, the school gets a check for 5% of the total. It’s that simple. If we don’t hit $5,000 in that month, the balance rolls forward to the next month and continues accumulating.
How do you purchase cards? You need to purchase the cards at the school office or from Jessica Diamond at fundraising@mavsptsa.org You just purchase the card for $5.00, and on your next trip to King Soopers, you can add to it for any amount you choose (up to $500). Don’t throw the card away – you keep the same card and reload it again and again. The card can only be purchased through Meadowlark so that the purchase is tied back to the school. If you buy a reloadable King Soopers gift card directly from King Soopers, the school does NOT get credit. Only the cards sold at school are registered to give credit back to Meadowlark.
What can you use the cards for? Any purchases at King Soopers including gas purchased at King Soopers or City Market Fuel Center.
How long is the card good for? The dollar amount on the card never expires. However, if your card balance goes to zero, and you don’t reload it within 90 days, the card does become inactive, and you will need to purchase a new card from the school.
This is a GREEN program. The cards are reused instead of throwing them away!
Payback Coupon Book
Meadowlark School is also participating in the Payback Coupon Book fundraiser!! This coupon book comes with hundreds of highly valued coupons to Boulder County businesses. A great way to support our local businesses and Meadowlark.
Each book is $20 and Meadowlark will keep $10 of each book sold. Wow! Please look for packets coming home with students on Friday. Payment and orders need to be returned back to school by Friday, September 22nd. Thanks for your support of Meadowlark!
